Application Process > Attendance Requirements
For the Leadership Pensacola program to be truly meaningful, Class Members have a responsibility to participate fully. Attendance at scheduled functions, as well as interaction among Class Members, is essential to the total learning experience.
A participant who fails to attend deprives another interested applicant to whom an opening was denied. Applicants must be able to fulfill program attendance requirements as follows:
Full attendance is required at the Orientation in August, the Weekend Retreat in October and the Closing Retreat in May. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this mandatory requirement. Failure to attend will result in automatic dismisal from the class.
Attendance is expected for each full day session. The class sessions are held on the second Thursday of each month from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A curriculum calendar is provided to each participant upon acceptance into the class to allow planning for the year.
Any portion missed in excess of two (2) hours (including lunch) will constitute a full day’s absence. Any portion missed less than two (2) hours will be considered a partial absence. Two partial absences will constitute one full absence. Any participant having more than one full absence (or equivalent), regardless of reason, will be required to complete one of the full sessions of the missed curriculum day with the following year’s class before being recognized as a Leadership Pensacola graduate. The same attendance policy applies to the make-up session.
Absences in excess of two full sessions (or equivalent) will result in dismissal from the class. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
