Work

The Objectives

The objectives of Leadership Pensacola are:

  • To select promising leaders from the various geographic, ethnic, occupational and economic segments of the Pensacola area.
  • To provide participants an in-depth, balanced understanding of issues, problems and opportunities confronting the Pensacola area and its leaders.
  • To develop a team spirit to enhance leadership skills among participants, thereby providing a common ground for working together on community needs.
  • To foster a high level of civic and community concern and involvement by participants.
  • To continue the education of LeaP graduates.
  • To provide opportunities for building community cohesiveness.
  • To develop the resources for community placement of graduates and to assist in placing LeaP graduates in positions of community leadership for one year upon graduation.

Each year, Leadership Pensacola (LeaP) identifies 50 emerging leaders in business, government and community and helps them expand their skills and commitment to voluntary civic responsibility.

Team Approach

In addition to day long forums and retreats, participants work as a team to create solutions to an identified community project. Leadership Pensacola has been involved in dozens of community action projects that continue to impact our community in positive ways.
